Tom Vander Veen
Senior Advisor
Tom Vander Veen serves as Senior Advisor to REV Entertainment. He advises the leadership team on matters of minor league team operations, food service, and business development. He is integral to the due diligence process, where he evaluates and makes recommendations for potential REV investments.
Vander Veen is part of the ownership groups of the Lake County Captains, Tahoe Knight Monsters, and Cleburne Railroaders. He also advises the ownership of Kane County Cougars. He previously was part of the ownership group of MiLB and Major League Rugby franchises, including the REV-operated Hickory Crawdads. He is also on the board of Top Tier Sports, a company that holds equity positions in multiple professional sports teams throughout the United States.
Vander Veen serves as the Director of Kane County Cougars on the Board of the American Association of Professional Baseball.
Vander Veen is also Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Epsilon Economics, an economic, analytics, and strategy consultancy. He specializes in the valuation of intellectual property assets and the evaluation of economic damages in patent, copyright, and trademark infringement and other commercial disputes. Vander Veen has served as an economic expert in U.S. Courts, state courts, and before the U.S. International Trade Commission. He has analyzed market structure, competition, pricing, and performance of products and services in numerous industries including sports and entertainment, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, consumer electronics, semiconductors, and software.
Vander Veen served as the principal economic advisor to the Chairman of the U.S. International Trade Commission. He has also taught economics and finance at Northwestern University and economics at Skidmore College. Tom earned his Ph.D. in economics from Brown University.
Vander Veen served as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Chicago Youth Centers. He serves as a Governing Member of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra Association and on the boards of other academic and charitable institutions.
