Wade Howell serves as Vice President of Minor League Baseball Operations for REV Entertainment. In this role, Howell oversees REV Entertainment’s sports management division, while also handling all business operations for the Down East Wood Ducks and Hickory Crawdads.
Howell oversees the day-to-day business, stadium, and administrative operations for two of the Texas Rangers minor league affiliates, the High-A Wood Ducks and Low-A Crawdads.
Howell was appointed as General Manager of the Rangers’ new Carolina League franchise in September 2016 and successfully developed all aspects of the Wood Ducks’ business, stadium, and administrative preparations for their inaugural 2017 season. He also was instrumental in overseeing a successful transition with the Hickory Crawdads organization when he was appointed as Vice President in 2018.
Howell has over 27 years of professional and intercollegiate sports experience. Howell joined the Rangers organization in January 2012, first working as Senior Director of Media Sales. Prior to joining the Rangers, he served as Vice President and General Manager of IMG College’s sports properties in the Greensboro, North Carolina area at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and Elon University. He worked extensively with the Greensboro Coliseum and coordinated other statewide collegiate sponsorships with schools such as Appalachian State, Duke, East Carolina, Wake Forest, and Western Carolina. Howell has also worked in similar roles at UNLV and Boston College.
Howell is a native of Stockbridge, Georgia, and earned his BA and Master’s Degree in Sports Administration from Georgia State University.
